My next project.

After my first CD, I'm planning to do a couple of new albums. One of them, and the one I'm working on right now is a 'showreel CD' which will be freely downloadable and will contains videogame-style tracks that fits various genre: Platform, RPG, Racing, Beat 'em Up, Horror, Puzzle and other.

I will send this special CD to all the italian videogame companies hoping someone will be interested in my work and commit me soundtracks for their videogames.
I'm not sure if releasing something - like single finished tracks - before completing the whole work or wait until I finish it.

'The Entrance' available for purchase online!

Hi folks,

finally today my new first album 'The Entrance' appeared online at CDBaby catalogue! This fantastic american service is also distributing the CD to other companies like Apple iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, Yahoo and many others.
I'm really glad of the whole thing, as my music can be listened (the main thing) and purchased by a lot of people around the world.

New site filippovicarelli.com V2 opened!

Finally I finished re-designing and coding my new website.

Main innovations are about the structure, totally redesigned to be more easy to understand and with some dynamic contents too.
I built up a simple shop system (based on PayPal shopping tools) for my future CDs too.

It has been hard to learn to build a site template completely tableless (with DIVs and CSS style sheets), but this was really worthwhile.
About the new graphic, I was looking for a simple and clean style to improve navigation experience.

Lastly, I'll write on this site exclusively in the english language as I prefer an international page to give hospitality to all my visitors and listeners.

Spotlight: "Videogame Music Showreel " my new CD!

Why don't you have custom music? This audio CD was intended to give an insight of my capabilities as a music composer.

Covering all genres in one CD was not possible, for this reason I picked up some of the most common game styles and created a tune in the way I used to like it was made.
Altough all music tracks are originally written, performed and produced by myself, you could notice some influences in both titles and music from famous games - all of this was obviously intentional.
Special thanks to Mirka Andolfo, the author of the cover artwork! It was written and produced between july 2008 and october 2008.

Quick note about Filippo Vicarelli

Filippo Vicarelli is a polyhedric artist and mostly a music composer, multi instrumentalist, writing music both for his own CD albums, as well as for Video Games, Documentaries, Multimedia, Websites, interactive CDROMs, and other projects.

He specially love to write soundtracks and produce sound effects for freeware and commercial games. He is also starting sells his self-produced CD albums (either on CD or as digital download through various outlets) for pure enjoyment, and not for living, with hope to deliver his music around the world for people's pleasure.
He tries his best to go for an original sound - kind of melodic, inspiring and well suited for defined context and atmosphere.
