VCX Entertainment free downloadable games

I collected on this archive part of my past games, built with some tools but with original graphics, characters and storyline. Sound and music have been taken on free samples website, so are not original.
Also, keep in mind they're available in italian language only, if not stated otherwise.

Note: these games could require some files in order to be played. If you get error messages or something else, try to download these three files: bass.dll, cncs32.dll and cncs232.dll. You should put these files into the same directory the game is.
This due to the tool I used and its limitations.

2006

Elemental Arise A really complex game, done with my friend Fabio aka Rokker who coded it and designed the game. As usual I did the graphics, sound and music (MP3 soundtrack) and the storyline.
You are Farwil an hero who can transform himself into 3 entities (fire, earth and air) and must save his world from Oblivion the evil boss who had stolen life and colors of the planet. Your goal is to clear all levels (5 worlds, and ten levels for each one!) by colouring levels, kill all enemies and other missions. Lots of bonus, lots of enemies are awaiting for you!
We put many efforts in this project, but we lacked some serious beta-testers and we never released it officially (altough it is complete at 95%).

Halloween Ramble A simple maze-style game, but pretty funny to play, with the same main character as Dark Wings - Hollow the bat. This game is really short, but can be completed by anyone and make the great Halloween atmosphere even funnier.

Mexican Ranch An attempt to create a kind of managerial game, but it is really too simple to be defined in that way. You are TexMex, the owner of a mexican ranch, and you must go search for creatures (over ten species plus some rarities) for your ranch and be able to keep them safe or you will lose all your animals! Plus you can buy or sell animals increasing your budget and so your skill level (you'll have to beat some other owners you can see on your status page).

Secret Agent A funny stealth-like game where you are Barry a kind of secret agent (actually more like a thief!) who goes looking for gold to bring to his boss. You'll have to be careful and make use of dark places to avoid the dangerous guards that go around the levels with a torch.

Wonder Tale The greatest RPG game I ever made. Unfortunately it is still incomplete (altough I have the whole story already finished in my mind) and should be translated to english. All dialogues are actually in italian language. Very few people have played it (my closest friends) but they have played for more than one hour and enjoyed it so much! It has special atmosphere, nice characters and a good deep storyline.
You are Rudy, a good sword fighter leader of a team of warriors who protect his village, Candle Village against evil creatures. One day, some archeologists found a strange scepter with a curse on it. The founder was transformed into an evil wizard who built his own army of darkness and went destroying villages and capturing prisoners. Finally he encounters three heroes, Rudy and his friends Mitis and Dart but he defeated Rudy by erasing his memory. You start the game at this point, saving many villages and knowing many characters.
It's difficult to me to tell you more about it in this small space, if you want and can read italian, try it yourself.

Dark Wings A nice platform, with some good ideas, but it was canceled due to lack of time. You are Hollow, a blue bat who can shoot magic bats and fly when there is wind. In fact you'll have to make use of the wind to reach some points of the level. It also have a cool MP3 sountrack, but I got some troubles by implementing it, and for this reason the game will skip the first world at start or it freeze up. You can play the first world by entering the password contained in the reame.

Cory Old School Cory is the most famous character of VCX Entertainment, and this was his last game (after a lot of titles I still own in my archives). Basically he is a... blue pot! The game is an arcade platform, really simple and with some bug just like the old games I did, and this is the reason of the title. You'll meet again Koro and Horry, the evil bosses of the previous sagas and meet for the first time a new character - Roky. Nice game with nice graphic.

Platform Guys A really small arcade game, funny and tricky. You are Sting, and must clear castle levels by reaching the top of them. In order to do that, you'll have to avoid traps, kill enemies and climb dangerous ladders. Very nice and enjoyable game with just 4 castles to complete and 4 kings to satisfy.

Spotlight: "Videogame Music Showreel " my new CD!

Why don't you have custom music? This audio CD was intended to give an insight of my capabilities as a music composer.

Covering all genres in one CD was not possible, for this reason I picked up some of the most common game styles and created a tune in the way I used to like it was made.
Altough all music tracks are originally written, performed and produced by myself, you could notice some influences in both titles and music from famous games - all of this was obviously intentional.
Special thanks to Mirka Andolfo, the author of the cover artwork! It was written and produced between july 2008 and october 2008.

Quick note about Filippo Vicarelli

Filippo Vicarelli is a polyhedric artist and mostly a music composer, multi instrumentalist, writing music both for his own CD albums, as well as for Video Games, Documentaries, Multimedia, Websites, interactive CDROMs, and other projects.

He specially love to write soundtracks and produce sound effects for freeware and commercial games. He is also starting sells his self-produced CD albums (either on CD or as digital download through various outlets) for pure enjoyment, and not for living, with hope to deliver his music around the world for people's pleasure.
He tries his best to go for an original sound - kind of melodic, inspiring and well suited for defined context and atmosphere.
